Taking it to the streets

You can't always believe what you see!

Another Mesmerizing Medium Monday is upon us and today I will feature Street Art.  I've seen Sidewalk Chalk Art like this making the Social Media rounds and you may have as well, but it's still positively enchanting!  It leaves me dumbfounded on how these talented artists can convey

such dimensional depth with only chalk on cement.  This particular work was produced by a German artist, Edgar Mueller and all of his works are as striking as the above.

The video to the right explores a Street Art form called Rainworks which is essentially where the writings or drawings are invisible on it's concrete canvas until it rains and all the creations become visible.  This was a brainstorm idea by Peregrine Church of Seattle, WA after he saw a viral video of red wine and chocolate syrup rolling off white garments treated with Always Dry, a non-toxic, environmentally safe and biodegradable hydrophobic coating spray (whew, that's a mouthful!).  I encourage you to check out the video as it's super-cool.

See a penny and pick it up...you'd find years of good luck here!
The last Street Art I'll cover is a Coin Street Mural that consists of  250,000 Euro-cent coins in three different shades.  The mastermind behind this sprawling piece is Stefan Sagmeister and was designed on Waagdragerhof Square in Amsterdam.  Here is the link to check out how he did it...

After searching out these impressive forms of Street Art, I don't think I'll ever look at a sidewalk the same again!
