Rod the Mod/Bod
It's Flashback Friday and I'll be going to the 70's and 80's for this ride back in musical time. I was listening to my Rod Stewart CD which spurred me to look up some videos and, well, here we be. Rod is a mixed bag for me...some of his songs are my all times favorites as you will soon see, and others not so much. It seems everyone LOVES "Maggie May", but personally I dislike it. I dunno, maybe it was overplayed when I was younger but I just don't care for it. However, I am posting to clue you in on my tops of Rod so I'll start with my #3 pick "Forever Young".
I suppose this tune is better appreciated by us parents. Kids just don't understand how important they are to us, although sometimes they get it after they have their own ankle-biters.
#2 is "Angel" and I love this one (duh!) and especially dig it because Jimi Hendrix wrote it . Of course Jimi's version eclipses Rod's but I groove to both.

**Drumrollllll and........ting!** My #1 Rod Stewart tune is "Mandolin Wind". There are so many facets to revel in with this song; Rod's voice, the musicianship, the ebb on flow of the tempo, the lyrics and, of course, the mandolin!
I hope you enjoyed flashin' back to the universe of classic Rod S. and it may have spurred you on to listen to more of his tuneful works like I'm going to do...right...now!
