Brownie Blitzkrieg

Ooooooo yum
Hellow der!  Doesn't that image on the left make your mouth curious a bit?  Oh, it should because it's a scrumtrulescent dessert I just made the other day.  Seeing as it's Tips, Tricks and Treats Tuesday I thought it'd be a good day to pass on the recipe.  My cooking skills, in my opinion, are okay (I might kick myself up a notch to good when it comes to Polish Foods which I'll probably cover in the future), but my dessert slinging is pretty good.  I'm thinking my family might be in agreement with me on the dessert front, at least I hope they are as it makes me happy to feed their faces!  My "baby" girl will periodically

send me dessert recipes to make for her and this was a
 Flourless Chocolate Chip Brownie Pie
recent request.  A big shout-out to the Chocolate Covered Katie Healthy Dessert blog.  We've tried and enjoyed quite a few of her creations and this recipe is no exception.  In the directions (link to follow below) she states that if you bake it at the required time it'll turn out gooey-er and she was right.  Hub and I loved it this way but my daughter thought it was a bit too gooey.  No problem as you can cook this a bit longer and it will be a bit more cakey-er.  This recipe also has a big surprise and I'll tell you but you can't let this little secret stop you from making it.  I think the special ingredient might make some of you out there balk at baking this but please try it before you pass...the major ingredient is black beans.
Sounds funky but if you have a good food processor (I used my Ninja Blender but it has 3 levels of blades) you should have no probs.  Trust me, it's good and here is Katie's site so you can try this fudgeyful fantasy for yourself...

"You may have seen me in an earlier post" says M.H.F.B. Pie

I dunno, seems like I'm in a brownie obsessed mood so here's another recipe.  I'm sorry but I can't remember where I got this one from but it's probably a Cool Whip creation as that's an ingredient (ya, I looked it up and it appears to be from Kraft).  I used a short-cut from their recipe as I just used a boxed brownie mix instead of making it from scratch.  So here it goes, Mile High Fudge Brownie Pie

Prepare boxed brownie mix and bake according to package directions using a large, greased 9" pie pan.  While cooling a bit, whisk together 2 small packages instant chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups of milk (I used 1 large box of pudding mix because that's all I had and I just used a bit less milk and it turned out great) and let thicken a few minutes. Fold in half of a 8 oz. tub Cool Whip (I wasn't paying attention and plopped the whole 8 oz. tub in...oops, but again it tasted super except I didn't have plain Cool Whip to look "cute" on top).  Next, scrap out the middle of the cool-ish brownie so you leave a nice brownie pie shell on the bottom and sides of the pie pan.  Now take those tasty brownie bits (except for a 1/2 cup or so for decoration later) and fold them into your pudding whip mix then pile the whole lot into the brownie shell, taking care to mold it up high in the middle so your nifty brownie crust will still show.  Now to make it pretty, spread  the remaining Cool Whip (as you can see I didn't!) on top and sprinkle with reserved 1/2 cup of brownie bits and chill for 2 hours.  Tada, you're done!

Here's hoping you attack with one or both of these "Chocolate Lightning" recipes for your own little Brownie Blitzkrieg.  But be careful and eat responsibly or you may be a casualty of your own Chocolate War. Talk about your "Friendly Fire"...rat-a-tat-yum.
