Simple Sunday-Snow Portal

A walk-about leads to
beckoning branches
teasing me
with what could be's
No hesitation is made
I trek on towards
the taunting gap
 curious anticipation surges
Eyes rapidly devour the
vast vision feast
encountered as I cross the
snow portal
Hues of blue flows
to the wide horizon
The Great Lady Lake
frozen, it appears,
for now
Slippery sheen under foot
yet I go
absorbing images as
brittle wind slices with
chilled air shards
Slick ice shelters
hide secret spaces
Cool milk-glass ice coats
dormant lakescapes
Atop a crest rests
the Diamond Light
the Queen that quietly rules
this crystal kingdom
Awed, I am gratified
that I
  crossed through to blue
