No Sweat!
It...could...work! |
Tada! It's Tips, Tricks and Treats Tuesday and after much thought (well, enough thought anyway) I decided that it'd be a nifty idea to discuss the semi-delicate subject of underarm perspiration a.k.a. sweat, seeing as it's summer and it's getting all hot and humid.
First on the agenda is an interesting tip
for helping to stop those unsightly wet-pit spots and that would be to use your basic, cheap-brand pantie liners stuck on the inside (it would be quite silly, embarrassing and weird to put them on the outside) armpit area of your chosen garment. I have not tried this yet but it sounds like a no-brainer.
In my research, I have found out that the yellow stains you get under your shirt sleeves (yuck!) is not from the sweat alone but from the reaction it has with the aluminum in your deod stick (roll, spray, w/e). The first video here ^^^^^ shows you how to rid your precious togs of those vile pit stains using only peroxide and Dawn dish washing liquid and some baking soda if you want to get extra fancy. Don't forget an old toothbrush for scrubbing, as well.
Well, if you'd like to by-pass the yellow in the first place you could try this natural way to cut out stinky under-arms...lemon juice! Ha, kind of funny that a yellow lemon will help cure your yellow stain problem. Anywho, the gal in the video simply puts lemon juice with a bit of witch hazel (her idea...I might skip that and just use the pure juice) in a spray bottle and uses 3 squirts in the morning and at night and she swears (along with her boyfriend) that it works. Just make sure you store this in the fridge which makes it a tad inconvenient to use but the cheapness, non-yellowing and natural attributes might make it worth it for you. Some people just use a fresh lemon and either squeeze it into their hands to slather it in the pit area or they just cut the lemon and rub it on like a traditional stick deodorant. When I try this, someday when I don't have to be around anyone but the Hub, I'll use the squirty bottle idea.
So don't sweat the heat this summer...hopefully these tips will help keep things high, dry and non-yellow!
