Cartoons to ponder

Brief but to the point
Well wadda ya know?  It's Mesmerizing Medium Monday and today I'll serve up some Political Cartoons.  I love cartoons and I believe many out there do as well as evidenced by all the Prime Time "Toon Shows" out there in T.V. Land.  What an interesting way to put an important point into the public's mind.  Cartoons are eye-catching plus they're quick and easy to ingest so it makes perfect sense to use them to try and get your side of the story heard.  For instance, the political

Important concepts delivered with a bit of fun :)
cartoon above was the first one published in America by Ben Franklin (busy guy, that Ben) in 1754 in his attempt to inspire the colonies (then only eight) to join together as one for the French and Indian war.

These "funnies" cover all sorts of relevant  topics, but I've tried to pick a few that aren't really of the "hot button" variety as my blog is, as you may remember, a happy place!

The cartoon to the above right is clever in that it picked a timely topic, the Ebola Scare, and equated it to something that pretty much everyone loves to lampoon, those happy-go-lucky politicians.

Seems about right to me :)
Ah, nostalgia...it takes us back to what our brain's remember as the "Good Old Days" and usually conjures up a few happy memories.  This toon draws on that feeling and contrasts it with life today.  It seems pretty accurate to me, but maybe in another 40 or 50 years some cartoonist will probably do his own contrasting with kids in the future.

Maybe these Political Cartoons made you smile but, most importantly, made you stop and think for a few minutes today. And that's great because that's exactly what they're supposed to do!
